In-vivo NMR laboratory is our external facility located at the Department of Radiology, University Hospital Bratislava Kramáre. It has a modern equipment for NMR spectroscopy and imaging of small laboratory animals (rats, mice, birds, etc.). It allows to track biological processes directly in living organism. The in-vivo NMR laboratory studies mainly animal brain in order to see the effects of treatment on the recovery from damage such as neurodegenerative diseases (e.g. Alzheimer disease). Long-term studies in living animals aimed at monitoring the state of the same individual are also possible. The laboratory currently implements also new techniques like tractography.
