Foreword
The Institute of Analytical Chemistry was formed in 2006 and consists of two departments: Departmentof Analytical Chemistry (created in 1941 among the first five chemistry departments at the University)and the Department of NMR Spectroscopy and Mass Spectrometry (created in 1982 by integration of the Central NMR Laboratory, Faculty Laboratory of Röntgen Microanalysis and Faculty Laboratory of Mass Spectrometry). Both departments represent highly qualified education and research environment with extensive teaching and publication activities. The pedagogical process is performed by 2 full professors, 9 associate professors, 3 assistant professors, 10 scientific researchers.
Moreover, 4 professors emeriti are included into the research projects and PhD education. The Instituteconcentrates on prospective branches of development of theoretical approaches and new analyticalprocedures aimed to solve the problems of various subjects, predominantly of chemical, foodand pharmaceutical industries and the environment. These topics have safeguarded the Institute the top-position in Slovakia.
