The Department of Nutrition and Food Quality Assessment was established in October 2001 within the modernization of the Food Processing Technology study branch.
Within the field of food chemistry and technology, the department contributes to the following forms of study:
- Bachelor degree study programme leadind to the award of the Bc. - length of study: 3 years (full-time) or 4 years (remedial study)
- Master degree study programme leadind to the award of the Ing. - length of study: 2 years (full-time)
- Doctoral degree study programme leadind to the award of the Ph.D. - length of study: 4 years (full-time) or 5 years (part-time)
Students gain a deeper understanding of processes related to food chemistry, food analysis, food microbiology, human nutrition, health aspects of food, hygiene, and health protection.
The objective of the programs is to provide students with theoretical and practical knowledge necessary for becoming experts in food processing, control and inspection institutions, the trade sector, state administration, or research and development.
